Something special
On the way to work i saw a truck with “dip into something special” on the side. my first thought was “that’s lewd”.

check out this crappy film http://imdb.com/title/tt0441796/. It sounds just terrible. Hopefully Frankie Muniz doesn’t get stuck in these kinds of films, he’s been great as Malcolm.
Along those lines, Hayden Pannerette (also from MITM and I did spell that wrong) stars in “bring it on 2: all or nothing” which must also be terrible. I thought she was a better actress than that, but I guess you take what you can get.

I decided I was close enough to get gas,but as I was leaving wendy’s the check engine light went out…. I had planned on getting the car in this friday and I possibly still may. Just to figure out what the fucking hell is causing that fucking light. Unfortunatly dad’s schedule is messed up so I may end up standing around or something.

Im Anal About How The Order Forms Sit On The Clipboard. Then I In And Mess Them Up On The Next Order.
Came across this wikipedia artcle from megatokyo, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modems#The_Carterfone_decision. Reading through it brought back memories of the old days. Back…..uh….. years ago I used to dial into AOL with a 2400 modem on a 386. It was a blazing fast 386 for the day with a hefty amount of ram but man did AOL take forever to respond. I think they even had a “low end” version of things just for the shitty modem connection.
I can’t remember if it was later, before, or concurrently (I used the 386 after dad got the compaq p233 because I could stay up all night and chat in my room) but in middle school we had a technology class. This was before technology was a concern of schools so this class took place after school. I think it was called technology club, so not really a class. Man, we dialed into the school net (big thing, schools interconnected on a standard system!) and did gopher searches. That’s right, gopher. No stupid guis or browesers. We had a somewhat pathetic terminial window on a mac….LC model of some sort. One of the flat ones that actually had color! At a whopping 9600bps! We could even log into the UW and run searches in thier information!
Sometime later one of the teachers for technology club accquired a 14.4 modem. HOLY SHIT MAN! FOURTEEN DOT FOUR! Wow that was fast back then. I have fond memories of staying after school to listen to that modem screech and howl. I can’t remember if we actually accomplished anything with the super new technology but it was fun….. and the begining of the end for me.
